We don't know about you, but around here, we are fed up with being surrounded by idiots. That's right, we said it. And we're not just talking about the politicians and the talking heads on TV (though they're idiots too). We're talking about the stupid things you hear on the street. We're talking about the people who think Women's Suffrage is something you ought to treat with aspirin. We're talking about people who confuse Chlamydia with Cleopatra. And while we wish we could say, "yes, they're people just like you and me," we can't. Because they're idiots.
Now that doesn't mean we're content to leave them that way. This is America, and what sort of country would we be if we weren't looking out for each other? Reduce Idiocy will be a place for us to vent, but we don't intend it to be one big crab-fest. So if and when information worth knowing or remembering pops up in a post, we'll highlight it in red. We hope you'll learn something every time you visit the site, and that will make it easier for you to identify idiots as they creep into your life. And creep they will.
The fact is, George Washington had a dream. Abraham Lincoln had a dream. Martin Luther King, Jr. had a dream. And darn it if we don't have a dream too—to be smarter people in a smarter world. So let's work towards it. Are you with us? Let's start taking the U. S. of A. back right now, fact by fact, one baby step at a time. Because America may be beautiful, but she won't be able to get by on those good looks forever.
